
Benjamín Jordán Astaburuaga

Benjamín Jordán Astaburuaga is a founding partner of Jordán, Barahona y Asociados. Over more than three decades of legal practice, he has led the judicial defense of both domestic and international clients across the banking, finance, insurance, construction, and consumer industries.
Benjamín holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He began his career at the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) and spent 14 years at Banco de Chile’s Legal Department, where he was appointed Head of the Litigation Division. Prior to founding Jordán, Barahona y Asociados, he served as Head of Litigation at Fontaine y Cía.
He has represented banks and financial institutions, mutual fund managers, real estate developers, and construction companies before Arbitral Tribunals, the Free Competition Tribunal, the Constitutional Court, and Ordinary Courts.
His experience includes strategic advisory and representation in complex proceedings related to banking and financial legislation, consumer protection, administrative procedures, labor and commercial litigation, and arbitration. This background positions him as a benchmark in sophisticated litigation, capable of delivering comprehensive legal solutions to institutional clients operating in regulated sectors and highly regulated markets.
Since 2014, he has served as an arbitrator for the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago).
